Saw this yesterday! Brilliant stuff! So many funny scenes as well as tons of action, too. This is actually the first time I've seen a Marvel film since either Spiderman or The Hulk in the early 2000s. I wanna see the Iron Man films, Captain America and Thor now. Razz

Went to see it yesterday, too! As Scary said, some scenes were quite amusing. At the start,Loki looked up and smiled. I almost bellowed at his smile and I was the only one laughing! Razz

It's a great film, perfect for boys my age. Explosions, gadgets, chases, superheros, guns, Scarlett Johannson, everything! Razz

Tom Hiddleston really did well at being the typically awesome baddy with an English accent, too. Razz

I went with Scary and TC, just simply awesome. My favourite would have to be between Iron Man and Hulk

I watched this a while ago and forgot to post what I thought about it.
Anyway... I thought the film was good but it was severely overrated. The final action scenes were also well put together but the aliens (Chitauri?) spent more time scraping the sides of buildings than anything and when the first big worm thing came along it was destroyed too easily. There was no sense of danger at all for the main group. They also never bothered to explain what the cube was or how Asgard got it. Overall the general formula for the film is explosion, dialogue, explosion, dialogue...
Personally I think this is going along the same line as Avatar and the Transformers series as looking amazing but when it comes to plot it is rather simple and not actually that great.

I haven't seen this myself, but all my friends tell me it is worth watching. I might go see it at some point, not sure.

Because you have to watch all of the Hulk, Iron Man, Thor and Captain America films of the past few years to know the plot - they're like the epilogue, this film being the 'bigger picture'/final piece of it all, at the same time as being the beginning of many new Avengers films to come.

I've seen all of them except the Hulk film. But it would have helped if they'd explained it for the people who hadn't seen them. I know it was in Captain America and that it gave the Nazi's the power to make futuristic weapons so they could take over the world. I don't remember seeing it in any of the other films though but according to Wikipedia it was briefly seen in Tony Starks notes in Iron Man 2 and in a post credits scene in Thor.
